Amber and Timothy’s idea for engagement photos was to have a bit of day and night in their shots.  So we started before the sun went down at the Adler Planetarium, and ended up in the city to get those bright city lights.  Luckily, we got a wonderful sunset, and a beautiful night.  I can’t wait for their wedding in April.  I’m sure their wedding will be absolutely fabulous.

As you can tell, this photoshoot, was done in the summer time, when light and heat really work in our favor.  Amy and Matt decided to have their photos taken at Adler Planetarium, which is an amazing spot, because of all the small and interesting locations within it.  Besides the wonderful Chicago backdrop, there’s also the beach to the south of it, the lake to the east and then the park passed the beach.  This gives every couple a lot of choices and variety in photos, which is exactly what this wonderful couple got.  I’m happy I had the pleasure of photographing this wonderful couple. Best wishes to them!

Kathleen and David wanted to, very much, show Chicago in their engagement photos.  So we started at North Avenue Beach, where we had a great Chicago backdrop, also the lake and beach.  Then, we went to the Michigan/Wacker Bridge, followed by different locations in the area.  We had a great time and some photos even looked very warm and summer-like, although, Chicago in November isn’t quite so.  Congratulations and best wishes!

Lindsay and Matt’s wonderful engagement photo session at Navy Pier and Olive Park, Chicago

Lindsay and Matt’s wonderful engagement photo session took place at Navy Pier and Olive Park, which is right to the north of Navy Pier.  We almost rescheduled because of the torrential rain, which ended right before we had to start, so all photos had to be standing, because the ground was just too wet for anything else.  That wasn’t a problem though because Olive Park is beautiful at any time and has great background from any direction.  This couple is just great and I’m grateful for letting me capture these special moments.

Wedding Planning Tips You Can’t Afford To Miss

If you plan to get hitched sometime soon, you may be feeling nervous about planning a wedding. Wedding planning is meant to be enjoyable, and you certainly don’t want to get stressed out before your wedding day. This advice here has many tips to help you get prevent that unnecessary stress.

Your main concern when getting married is, of course, the individual you are going to marry. Don’t rush this decision, as it alters your life like no other. Consider the person and what about them you can’t live without, and also the things about them that might irritate you.

Invest time in writing vows that will be truly meaningful to your intended spouse. It’s important to understand that a marriage is a strong commitment that takes both of you making sacrifices. Take this opportunity to express your love for your betrothed so that will always be a part of your wedding ceremony.

When talking to your DJ, let him know the songs you like as well as the song you don’t like. Find a song that you enjoyed in the past. Regardless of the reason, let your DJ know to prevent you cringing at your reception.

If you want to dance during the reception, make sure there is enough room! Forgetting this can end with a cramped reception, so don’t forget this important detail. You can always move chairs and tables to have more space for dancing.

Instead of traditional floral bouquets, brides can adorn their bouquet with diamonds, rhinestones or other gems. You can do this by applying some crystals, costume jewelry, or maybe even an heirloom piece. Make sure you stay consistent with these decorations in cut, color and dimensions so it goes well with what you are going to wear.

Now that you’re more informed about wedding planning, you can go through with your plans and hang on to your sanity. Treasure each minute prior to your big day and enjoy being married.

Kristin and Jason’s wonderful engagement photo session was done all over downtown Chicago.  They came in for the Bears game, and we had to end up at Soldier Field with jerseys on, but before that they wanted to cover as much as possible of all of the most important Chicago spots.  Everything from Wrigley Building, to the Cloud Gate (the bean), and of course, Soldier Field.  We had a great time covering all of these spots, and the weather was working with us as much as possible.  They make a wonderful couple and I’m glad I had the chance to photograph their engagement.

Rumya and Shantesh’s unique engagement photo session at Adler Planetarium, Chicago

Rumya and Shantesh’s engagement photo session at Adler Planetarium, Chicago was very unique.  They didn’t necessarily wanted a traditional Indian style photo session, so we started in a more westernized look at the Planetarium, where we got the gorgeous Chicago backdrop, followed by a more Bollywood inspired look at Osaka Garden in Jackson Park.  Either way, both times we had a blast.  We did everything from traditional style photos to candid and photojournalistic style.  I wish them the best in their marriage.

Expert Tips On Photography That Boost Your Skills

Photography is a very popular hobby these days, but people tend to be scared of taking it seriously because they lack the knowledge they need to be successful. It’s up to you to take the time to gather as much knowledge as possible, giving yourself the tools you need to take amazing photographs time and time again. The tips presented below can be integrated into your fund of photographic know-how.

Come closer to the subject, so you can snap a better photo. Doing this lets you get your subject in frame, and prevents any interference from the background. You also get the opportunity to allow your subject’s face to be the star of the shot; this is especially impactful with portraiture. The intricacy of portraiture can be lost entirely if you keep your distance from the subject.

Creating photographs that stand up to the pros will require that you invest in a camera that has professional features. In order to take the best professional photographs, you should look into buying a dSLR camera. Most photographers use this type of camera, and you should too if you want your work to be as good as theirs.

Many people think that sunny days are great for photos, when in fact, direct sunlight can ruin any photograph. Sunlight can cast bad shadows, weird highlights and give your subject squinting eyes. If you can, try late evening or early morning lighting to shoot in when outside.

Properly framing your subject can improve your photograph. By zooming onto the subject, any surrounding distractions can be removed. This will help keep clutter out of your pictures, and eliminate any unwanted focal points.

Keep these tips in mind the next time you pick up your camera. These tips can make a big difference in your pictures if you try them out.

Afton and Patrick’s engagement photo session in downtown Chicago, Illinois

Afton and Patrick’s engagement photo session in downtown Chicago, Illinois.  This lovely couple chose to have lots of Chicago in their engagement photos because they are from out of town.  And like many such couples, the Chicago backdrops were a must.  We got lucky and even had a little bit of sun in our photos, in an otherwise very cloudy day.  My personal favorite was their custom made jerseys with the wedding date on them.  This wonderful couple made the photo session relaxed and fun, and I’m sure their wedding will be the same.

Get The Lovely Wedding Of Your Dreams With These Tips

Weddings are about love. So here are some tips to make that day even more special and unforgettable. When you plan correctly, your wedding can come off without a hitch.

For more cost-effective weddings, try choosing a date that is atypical to wedding season. Most weddings take place between May and September. Many venues cost more at this time. If you need to book during this time, make sure you book far in advance to get the best deal.

You’re going to look at the pictures from your wedding for many years to come, so make sure that you get good quality photos taken. Choose the best photographer you can, even if it costs you extra. You want to be sure that your wedding will be remembered fondly.

Use friends or family to lend you some property for a wedding. If you know anyone with a large enough backyard, you can save a lot of money on your wedding. Pay them in advance to do this for you.

If the bride has sensitive skin she can find ways to take the stress out of their lives so they don’t end up with facial irritation. Look for facial treatments that soothe and brighten with ingredients like sea salts, oatmeal, rose, and creamy scrubs.

“Destination” wedding guests will appreciate a thoughtful gift of vacation items awaiting them in their rooms. Useful items you will want to include would be tourist maps, sunglasses, hats, disposable cameras and brochures of fun places they could visit while in the area. You can also put in a guide to restaurants that are local.

Provide your guests with an online itinerary of events so that everyone, including out-of-town attendees, know what they should be scheduling and planning to attend. Your guests will appreciate knowing where they are expected and at what time; consider making a separate schedule for members of the wedding party.

The tips here can help you plan that special day with minimal stress. Since this is such a special day, it should be perfect. The happy couple deserve the perfect wedding.
